It was time for Canadian Powder Guiding (Capow) to grow up. Positioning themselves for a number of years as a youthful, playful, irreverent brand, the Revelstoke, BC-based ski guiding business recognized the need to adapt their communications to match their growing market. A new website was the perfect place to launch this matured, clean, focused re-brand. While growing up was important, we wanted to make sure to not forget about Capow’s roots, and we made an effort to pay homage to the “glory days” by way of creative copy and fun, sharp imagery.
The web design focused on clean lines, bright brand colours, and epic imagery. Capow offers many different trip styles, from lodge-based to education to custom private ski adventures. Developing a logical page flow was key in this build, in order to easily present the multitude of Capow offerings. Built around WordPress, the Content Management System (CMS) was custom built to allow for client edits, new trip additions, and image swapping.
Matching the right clients up with the right guided adventure is an ongoing challenge for any adventure tourism company. We worked with Capow to help alleviate this problem by creating an interactive “Cap-Abilities” section (see below), which can be customized for each individual trip. Detailed descriptions of each ability level are displayed in a simple pop-up window (not shown here).
